What will become of us?

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is not so Islamic and neither so republic. Is it even Pakistan? A man made this country because all the coins in his pocket were useless? Did a man make this country or was it a reward from our British rulers to the landlords who served them for years? Did a man just showed us how opportunist he was by taking all the credit for something hundreds of thousands of people shed their blood for? Do you recall any of the names that weren’t your relatives and were killed while migrating to the free land?

How free was Pakistan? How free is Pakistan? Who defines the term ‘free’ in Pakistan? Who is free and why? Who is not free and why not? Who makes the rules? Who has to follow the rules? Has Pakistan reached the brink of destruction? Who determines that? What will happen in case Pakistan takes a fall? Will we divide or will we be united during and after the fall? In case we divide, who will be the rightful owner of the atomic bombs?

LAHORE, PAKISTAN - JULY 9: Pidgeons fly over the Wazir Khan Mosque in the walled city of Old Lahore on July 9, 2010 in Lahore, Pakistan. The Mosque was built in 1634-35 during the reign of Mughal Emperor Shahjehan by Ilam-Ud_Dinansari. The Mosque took 7 years to build. Akbar the Great, the 3rd Mughal emperor, enclosed the city of Lahore in Red Bricks during the 15th century. The bustling walled City of Lahore covers an area of 256 ha with a population of around 200,000. The city walls were destroyed shortly after the British annexed Punjab in 1849 and were replaced with gardens, some of which exist today. The Circular Road links the old city to the urban network. Access to the Walled City is still gained through the 13 ancient gates. (Photo by Daniel Berehulak/Getty Images)

Is justice more important or hunger? Is democracy the right way to go for a third world developing country? Or is dictatorship the way to go? Is an unfaithful democrat better than a faithful dictator? Were Hitler, Stalin and Saddam actually bad for their respective countries? Does a third world developing country afford 342 members of National Assembly and 726 members of Provincial Assemblies? Does a third world developing country afford protocols and salaries of nearly a thousand members of assemblies? Or are one dictator and a few advisers cheaper?

If Pakistan is going towards destruction, than who is driving it? Is it someone from outside or is it one of us? Can we turn Pakistan around? Are we just going to say that we can and not actually do it? Are we going to do it ourselves or are we going to wait for someone to do it for us? What if that someone is a foreigner? Would that be acceptable for us? Is our ego big enough to stand in our way of success? Is it ego or patriotism? If it is patriotism, than why is it letting us watch our own country fall?

Have we become carefree or have we become insensitive? Has the truth become too bitter for us to swallow? Do we have faith in ourselves? Do we have faith in each other? Do we trust ourselves? Do we trust each other? What is democracy? What is dictatorship? What is destruction? What is patriotism? What is insensitivity? What is the truth? What is faith? What is trust? What do we need to do? Who will help us? What will become of us?

The answers to all those questions are within us. If we would just stop looking for the answers and start working on the questions, we will build our own answers. But who am I to tell you that, right?

Right.
